This large stoneware vase was made by hand using coils of clay. Once built, I then smoothed the exterior with water on my pottery wheel. and slowly let it dry for about three weeks, ready for its first firing. Finished in my matte white glaze, I applied the glaze roughly allowing the lovely copper colours to come through from the stoneware.
Handmade pieces are much more organic in shape compared to my wheel-thrown work and many hours go into making something like this. It is truly unique in every way and no two pieces are the same.
Important note - Most of my work is designed for display use. Therefore when using water please protect any surfaces where necessary.
